Cookies - No cooking required

I thought I`d give this gift to a few of my relatives as when I bake, they all expect some goodies.

Just print out the rhyme below onto some paper, drop a cookie cutter (8 for £1 in Poundland) into a cello bag, recycled from shop bought cards or purchased from £1 store, The Works or Wilkensons and you have a great yet inexpensive gift. (Works out about 15p)

I made a plate of Cookies
And ate just one or two
But I started feeling guilty
Because they were for you

I went into a panic
And ordered on the phone
This brand new cookie cutter
So you can make your very own

Love Heart Sweet Tree

I made this to put on a table at a buffet for an 18th Birthday
I need to make another one but differnet sweets, that will have to wait until I get another pot

To make :-
Take one flower pot 10p at car boot sale
A bamboo cane 10 for 99p Home bargains
Put the bamboo cane in the pot carry around in your car for a week and you`re bound to find someone using cement. (Like I did) Ask them to cement cane in pot - free
It makes the pot heavy to take the weight of the sweet tree above
I then bought 100 rolls of love hearts on amazon for £6.39 including delivery (300 are cheaper)
I picked up a 12cm sphere florists ball at country baskets 6 for £9.99
To attach the Love Hearts to the tree I used a hot glue gun. I tried everything else, it wouldnt work and eventually purchased a gun from ebay for £4.57 with 52 glue sticks
The ball took 70 rolls and I put some in the flower pot

A4 Ladies Retro Card

Today I been making a card for my friends mother, I find it difficult to do this, as you have to please 2 people , the friend and the mother.

Shes going to be 70 this year and my friend asked me to make it for her mother. A difficult thing to do as I dont like charging anything for cards so I normally only make them for myself to give

Retro lady - Kanban
Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Leaves, Doily - Silhouette Cameo
Embellishments, hearts diamonds - Country Baskets

Party In A Box Less than a £1

Heres my latest venture on things for Christmas.

I am determined to be more organised this year and have decided to make some of these for gifts for the family

Firstly I covered some boxes, these are old hair products ones from the boots 3 for 2 event
I find it cheaper to buy the more expensive shampoo / conditioner this way especially if you wait for the 70% sale

So I covered them with 12 x 12 backing papers
The letters are from a range at Kanban when the factory shop was good value, now they keep the best stuff for their "friends"

So inside the box I put the following

Balloons - 2p each , pack of 50 at Asda
Blowers 12p each on ebay
Straws 100 for 19p B&M
Bubbles  13p each (12 for £1.50)
Umbrellas 39p for 20 Home Bargains
Party Poppers 7p each Asda
Stirrer and Ice cube bought in a set 69p for 40 items Asda
Sparklers Amazon 99p for 10

Grand cost 62p

For the smaller children, I`m taking out the sparklers and putting some mini cans of coke in

As they were for family I put in

I had to watch the sell by dates as I needed them to go past Christmas
The shotz are 4 for 99p in Home Bargains
The Grants £1.25 they are in Asda on offer at the moment 4 various ones for £5.00
The wine also in Home Bargains 99p

This one is for the stepson and his wife so for less than a fiver (£3.12) a fun Christmas present

These prices are correct and i have been sourcing the things for months at my leisure as I know what I wanted to do

Enjoy

Easter Chick card

I recently made an Easter Card for some very dear friends of mine and thought I`d try decoupage, haven`t done any for ages.

So I cut out some chicks in a basket and voila. I love purple and yellow they seem to be my "in" colours at the moment

The ribbon was from a selection I picked up at Lidl.
The string was from Kanban 5 x 5m lengths for £1
The white leaves were cut using my trusty Silhouette Cameo
Backing Papers were from Calco Papercrafts

Hunger Games

I`ve read in the paper about the Hunger Games films and have wondered what all the "fuss" was about. So I read the write ups on the net of the film and thought I`d try the books

They`re not usually my type of readinf but I purchased the three books for kindle and in a day, I`d read the first book.....absolutely brilliant

I`m half way through the second book and have had to discipline myself to put it down.

This is a review on Amazon, author unknown

Review

The Hunger Games is amazing --Stephenie Meyer

I couldn't stop reading --Stephen King

One of the best written and most thought-provoking books I've read for a long time --Anothony Horowitz

Product Description

A fight to the death - on live TV. The game show where you kill or die, and where the winner's prize is survival. In District 12, where Katniss Everdeen lives, life is harsh and brutal, ruled from afar by the all-powerful leaders of the Capitol. The climax of each year is the savage Hunger Games - where twelve boys and twelve girls from each District face each other in a murderous showdown. When sixteen-year-old Katniss is chosen to represent her district in the Games, everyone thinks it's a death sentence. Only one person can survive the horrors of the arena. But plucky Katniss has been close to death before. For her, survival is second nature... "The Hunger Games is amazing" _Stephenie Meyer_ "I couldn't stop reading" _Stephen King_

Its available for...£2.79 for three books and I`d recommend it

Garage full of tools

Making a card for my stepson is one of the hardest things I can do. Every year it seems to centre around cars.

This year I`ve made him him own garage and even put the tools in for him

I havent made these silhouette files myself so cant share these ones sorry. I took the lazy way and bought them on line.

Sunday 25 March 2012

I`ve been busy

My friend was saying she was stuck as to what to put on a table at a charity function, just a little something for the ladies. So I put my thinking cap on and this is what I come up with.

I made 4 prototypes in four different colours for her to see and she liked them all equally so, I made 10 of each. I filled them with 3 sweets each and they`re ready to go

I hope they`ll enjoy receiving them as much as I`ve enjoyed making them

Footballer card - free cutting file

I  made this card for a football fan. I`m trying to get a few files together for my blog that people can use for free. If you do use my files, could you please point people here to collect them.

I cut the various layers out on my silhouette cameo, and the footballs were sketched using the sketch pen holder I got from Create and Craft

The Silhouette / Craft robo cuts out the footballer, the offset, the green frame comes as one whole piece so you could use it as frame for another project.
I placd two tpes of backing paper behind the frame togive my card a bit of colour

St Davids Day Daffodil - free Silhouette file

I made this daffodil cutting file the other day to celebrate St Davids Day.

At the moment theres some gorgeous miniture daffodils in our garden and one thing i miss about Wales is the gorgeous Daffodil displays all over the country so I madde this cutting file on my silhouette.

And now I have a display all year around

And heres the Silhouette SD / Silhouette Cameo file

Little boys 1st Birthday Card

Im not the best at making little boys cards. Its such a strange age for cards , at 1 I  feels hes too old to have a baby card but at 1 he feels too young to have a boys card

So when I see these toppers from LOTV I knew the swing one would be suitable. As his parents have just taken delivery of a new puppy.

I have made the card as an easel card using acetate. So it looks like the topper is floating in space.

The frames and flourishes were cut on the silhouette cameo. There are two flourishes on top of each other to give it depth and the brad from a selection of pepper & friends by Dovecraft

I had some bits left over so I made another card, not an easel card but still used acetate to add to my card stock. I didnt put a number on it but will do so as required

Shaped Car Card cut using Silhouette Cameo

Heres a picture of a card I made this morning of a car, its a shaped card cut using a silhouette file . The file is available for download free as I designed it myself

And heres the free silhouette file for download. It will easily fit on a 12 x 8 cutting mat
