Little boys 1st Birthday Card

Im not the best at making little boys cards. Its such a strange age for cards , at 1 I  feels hes too old to have a baby card but at 1 he feels too young to have a boys card

So when I see these toppers from LOTV I knew the swing one would be suitable. As his parents have just taken delivery of a new puppy.

I have made the card as an easel card using acetate. So it looks like the topper is floating in space.

The frames and flourishes were cut on the silhouette cameo. There are two flourishes on top of each other to give it depth and the brad from a selection of pepper & friends by Dovecraft

I had some bits left over so I made another card, not an easel card but still used acetate to add to my card stock. I didnt put a number on it but will do so as required

Shaped Car Card cut using Silhouette Cameo

Heres a picture of a card I made this morning of a car, its a shaped card cut using a silhouette file . The file is available for download free as I designed it myself

And heres the free silhouette file for download. It will easily fit on a 12 x 8 cutting mat

My good fortune to share with yourselves

as a member of the crafting community I have always found crafters honest and loyal. as a caravanned club member (rv) I have found the same. I choose my friends wisely experience have taught me many lessons. but here I want to share my good fortune with yourselves. when I was away before Xmas . I came home and realised I had left my most precious jewellery behind in the safe. I remembered after 5 days on the way to a funeral. on coming back from the funeral I phoned royal carribean international and told them what had happened and they said that they're very sorry but nothing was handed in and every part of stateroom would have been checked. I was gutted. the reason being the things in the safe was mainly a charm bracelet. it was welsh gold the sane as the royal family uses in their wedding rings. but what was so special about it was over a period of years (25) my late mum and my children had added charms to it. for instance when my twins were born she got a charm. birthdays and Xmas . sentiments cannot be replaced so I it put a bit of a downer on Xmas especially when oh had got me a charm. I phoned insurance and they said fine get a quote. well what a shock. the values of the pieces have gone up so much. £5000 in total, I was amazed . phoned insurance back. to be told it wasn't insured. it had to be insured separately. it wasn't the money I wanted . it was the bracelet. well feeling abit disgruntled by the whole thing, I fired off an email to royal carribean, practically accusing them of theft because I knew exactly where it was in the safe. the box was the same colour as the safe , it was standing up on a blind spot in the safe and asked could they double check the safe as it was not visible in there you would have to put your hand in and feel about. I am so cautious with these things that I even hide them in the safe lol. carry them on me and never put them in to my luggage. I couldn't believe something in a safe . in a locked room could disappear. well I just got a phone call and you' ve guessed it . they have my jewellery. woo woo woo. you can not believe how happy I am . I wouldn't even let anyone talk about it I was that upset. there is a slight problem. it's 200miles away in London. but its locked up and I'm driving down to get it . they did offer to post it and it would be insured but I'm taking no chances. never again. so whoever in the world who found my jewellery. thank you so much I wish you all the luck in the world and I hope one day I meet you to thank you personally.

Christmas Village with a Silhouette Cameo

My friend Kelly over on Silhouette plus made a lovely little village as seen here , shes an inspiration to us all with her Silhouette and often shares files with us free for personal use , available to download on her blog.

So on seeing her village on returning from holidays I wanted one too. There was only 7 days to Christmas so I had to get my skates on.

As I started making it I was thinking of other things that could be added , so I had a good old rumage in the silhouette america store and find some bits to add. And some I made myself. It turned out pretty well in spite of the short time.

And thanks to Kelly I made a beautiful Christmas decoration at vitually no cost just time.

Heres my attempt to  show you my village

Where have I been?

Sorry to disappear like that, but I`ve just come back from nearly 3 weeks cruising the med, just what I needed to recover from my heart opeation before getting into the swing of things....I find myself way behind from being well in front...

Heres where I went..

Portugal was the first port of call

The bridge in the background we had to sail under and was waiting for the tide to change to do so, over on the hill you can see Jesus atop a statue watching Lisbon ..

This is the Rock of Gibraltar and me shopping in Gibraltar

Then we moved on to Palma De Majorca

Then off to Barcelona , where I found a boot sale/flea market

Then I had a couple of days at sea to recover..

Then off to Italy

Here I`m holding up the leaning tower of Pisa....well someone has to do it....

Then off to Rome, these are the famous Spanish Steps, the pope had just left....

Cistine Chapel...Missed him Again

Went to St Peters Square as well...

Drat missed him....

We then set sail off to Naples, where we visited Pompeii

It ws under volcanic lava for 2000 years, its amazing, they`re still digging it out.

This lady in centre of photo is a real person, the skeleton is inside the lava....

We sailed on...

Fruit carving by chefs...

Towel Art by the cabin boy ...wow...just one of the many things he did
We sailed onto Sardinia

and Spain but OH forgot battery charger.....aaarrrgghhhh

But I forgive him as he booked this holiday as a surprise for me to recover and I`m not sure if I have as Im totally worn out..

So apologises for disappearing but Im back ...
